Recommendations

On Substack, a publication can recommend others; new subscribers see the suggestions. I read every tracked publication's full outgoing list and its 50 newest incoming recommendations once a week.

• Started is Substack's own date, so it's right even for recommendations made before I first read the list.
• Stopped is the first weekly read where a recommendation is missing from the full list.
• New recommenders, 30 days counts recommendations Substack dates within the last 30 days. Substack's incoming list stops at the newest 50, so for writers who got more than that, the count is a floor and shows a +, and older weeks in the small charts are outlined as incomplete.
• Removed recommendations aren't listed by Substack, so ones that started and stopped before Oct 31, 2026 can't be seen.
